What to Expect?
Kengarags
A morning pick-up from the hotel, where we will start our Soviet styled sightseeing tour along the cobbled streets of “Kengarags” from “Krasotaja street” to “Sv. Franciska catholic church”. While exploring 20th-century Soviet architecture ensembles mixed with modern life, you will discover these simplified 9-story buildings, built in Soviet Union times and get to know more about the local life here.
TV Tower – Victory Park
After you will be taken to the TV tower. The Latvian TV tower is known as the highest TV tower in all of Europe. We will have free time to take photos and hear great stories about this historically important building.
Shortly, we will take a quick stop at the Riga Soviet monument in “Victory Park” to get to know more about the history of the park and Soviet victory monument in Riga and it’s impact in today’s society between Latvian and Russian speaking people.
Bolderaja – Daugavgriva
“Bolderaja”. While technically it’s located in Riga, due to its far distance, “Bolderaja” is an isolated area mixed with stories, soviet building architecture and a soviet time vibe. Be prepared as we enter an area full of factories, wooden houses, small local shops, sand roads, small walking streets and other secrets ready to be discovered.
Our last Soviet era tour destination will be “Daugavgrivas fortress”. Built in the 17th century, it is located close to the Daugava river, it’s purpose was to control the ship movement.

By your request, you may be taken to “Daugavgrivas Mols” at the end of the Soviet Riga tour, but be ready, as we’d pass abandoned factories, houses, and iron armature scattered on the ground. We will walk for 15 minutes through the forest to reach the Daugavgrivas Mols . The approximate walk from the car to the Mols is around 15 minutes.
