About Simple Latvia and It's Origins
“Hi, I am Edgars, the founder of Simple Latvia.
When someone asks me about my business, I always start by saying that I am just a normal guy who loves to travel. As a passionate world traveler and native Latvian, I believe that Latvia is one of the most beautiful and exclusive countries in the world.”
How It All Started?
One of my latest passions is exploring Latvia. As I began researching my home country, I was overwhelmed by the information available on the internet. To be honest, I found it confusing. Most of the information was outdated or non-existent.
That’s when I had the idea to create a local blog and tour company focused on Latvia. My first clients were my international friends. I wanted to show them my city, Riga, and the authentic places that only locals know about, which are often difficult to find on the internet. As I became more established, I wanted to offer these simple but authentic tours to other travelers.
Sometimes I bring my dog along, but mostly it’s just me and my human clients. As a next-generation Latvian (someone who hasn’t lived during Soviet times), I can explain how things work in Latvia today. My goal is to show you my home country in a simple and authentic way, and make your trip here as enjoyable as possible.
